Upcoming Public Hearing

Planning Commission Meeting Scheduled

January 24th is your chance to show your support for the proposed Trader Joe's and residences at the corner of Sutter and Van Ness. The San Francisco Planning Commission has scheduled a hearing to take public comment on the project for Thursday, January 24 at 1:30 PM. The meeting will be open to the public and will be attended by representatives from BayRock Residential (the developer planning the project), city officials and neighborhood residents.

Participation is easy. During the meeting, the commissioners open the floor up to public comment. Anyone may speak and share their vision for the future of housing and retail on lower Van Ness. No public vote or head count is taken, though, so anyone interested in showing support for the project should make a brief statement. Commissioners allow each speaker a few minutes to share his or her opinion.

The meeting will be held in the San Francisco Planning Department at San Francisco City Hall in Room 400. That's on the fourth floor, just across from the elevators on the Polk Street side of the building. Hope to see you there!

If you can't attend the meeting and would like to let the city know you support the project, you can share your thoughts in a letter or note to the City Planning Commission. Letters should reference case number 2005.0298KECV and can be addressed to:
San Francisco Planning Commission
1650 Mission Street, 4th Floor
San Francisco, CA 94103

If you'd like to learn more about the meeting or would like BayRock Development Manager Marilyn Ponte to meet with your neighborhood group to share additional information about the project, please contact Marilyn at 510.873.8880 or marilyn@bay-rock.com.
